Welcome!

Hello children, families and teachers and welcome to Happy Panda Children’s Yoga.

It’s wonderful that you are here, and we hope that you will find something that will help, encourage and inspire you on your children’s yoga journey.  We have created a range of resources that will help you along the way.

The best way to start is with our two very useful picture books, ‘Yaks Can Do Yoga!’ and ‘Don’t Be Grumpy, Monkey!’. These are humorous stories packed with breathing exercises, yoga poses, partner poses and mindfulness techniques. They are, in fact, mini yoga classes that you can do with the children at home or in school. But children’s yoga doesn’t have to involve a structured class - it’s better when it becomes a game or a part of your lifestyle or a positive life habit.

Why children’s yoga and mindfulness?

Firstly, I would like to point out that children’s yoga is specially designed for children and is also adapted and refined to suit their different ages, abilities, and levels of energy and pace. This is all done through fun activities like storytelling and copying nature, music, singing, games and art and craft.

Yoga and mindfulness teach children how to understand their emotions, enabling children to self-regulate and to build positive self-esteem and self-awareness.

When children are doing yoga poses, whether they are sitting, balancing or doing partner poses, they become ‘body aware’ and they learn how to tune into what is happening within their bodies in terms of flexibility or tightness, strength or weakness, full of energy or tired. Children become grounded through their physical sensation.

Also, there are many medically proven health benefits. Children’s yoga promotes calm and relaxation, physical strength, concentration, coordination, and focus whilst also encouraging creativity.

Children’s yoga is backed by neuroscience research and can help with many children’s common developmental conditions including  ADHD, anxiety, dyspraxia, autism, asthma, hypermobility and growing pains.

Our mission is to share children’s yoga and mindfulness with children, families and teachers, and to help you build healthy habits and tools for life.

Let’s create a world with happy, healthy and strong children.
